Treasury of Atreus (Tomb of Agamemnon)

Monumental Mycenaean tholos tomb at Mycenae, also called the Tomb of Agamemnon. Built c. 1250 BCE with a 14.5 m diameter beehive corbelled vault — the largest dome construction anywhere in the world until the Pantheon was built 1,400 years later. The lintel block above the entrance weighs an estimated 120 tonnes, transported from a quarry several kilometres away. The precision of the corbelled stone joints holds without mortar to this day.
