Yakushima Megaliths

MegalithicAsiaJapan

Carved megalithic stones on Yakushima Island, off the southern tip of Japan's main island chain. Features include a precisely rectangular cut stone sitting atop a larger worked rock, additional bread-loaf-shaped blocks reminiscent of the laser-cut appearance of stones at AlUla (Saudi Arabia) and Puma Punku (Bolivia). Local lore connects the stones to the legendary land of Mu. Mainstream archaeology is silent on these features.
