Vast cluster of 311+ kofun in Miyazaki Prefecture, southern Japan. The largest single cluster of kofun in the country, spanning 4th-7th c. CE. The Osahozuka kofun is one of the largest. Sacred mountain setting associated with the mythological founding of Japan in the Nihon Shoki.
