Protonuraghe Bruncu Madugui

MegalithicEuropeItalyc. 1,800 BCEEarly Nuragic

Corridor-type protonuraghe of cyclopean basalt on the Giara di Gesturi, an ellipsoidal mass ~28 × 16.5 m long regarded as a prototype of the corridor nuraghi, with entrance passage, corbelled stairway and pseudo-vaulted rooms instead of a single tholos. Its chronology is contested — Lilliu's Early Bronze dating versus recent Middle Bronze arguments — a debate central to whether protonuraghi predate the classic tholos towers.
