Polynesian fortified hilltop settlement on Rapa Iti in French Polynesia. Terraced earthwork pā with stone retaining walls covering an entire mountain ridge. Built and occupied ~1300–1800 CE. The most elaborate Polynesian fortification on Earth, and one of the most isolated.
