Ta Prohm
TempleAsiaCambodiac. 1186 CEKhmer Empire
'Tomb Raider Temple' inside the Angkor complex (~1186 CE), famous for the strangler figs and silk-cotton trees that have fused with its walls. Contains the controversial 'Stegosaurus' relief — a carved creature on a column whose dorsal plates have no accepted explanation. Soft-sandstone construction; one of the most heavily-weathered late-Khmer temples.
