Sefertepe

MegalithicTürkiye

Pre-pottery Neolithic site in Şanlıurfa Province, near Karahan Tepe. Discoveries announced in 2025 include two carved heads emerging from a single slab and a small statue with two faces (one open-mouthed) on opposite sides of the same stone. The dual-face motif resonates with the open-mouth carving on the main head in structure AB at Karahan Tepe, suggesting deep iconographic continuity across Taş Tepeler sites.

Look Closer — this site carries open questions: stones heavier than the period's tools could lift; geometry beyond period explanation.
