Rosslyn Chapel & Castle

MegalithicEurope

15th-century chapel near Edinburgh built by William Sinclair, with adjacent ruined castle. Famous for the Apprentice Pillar and extensive cryptic carvings interpreted variously as Templar, Masonic, or Rosicrucian symbolism. The chapel sits atop a foundation that some independent investigators read as much older — possibly a Picto-Celtic megalithic site that was later Christianized.
