Carved granite huaca on the Urubamba river at the foot of the Machu Picchu massif, near the hydroelectric station and San Miguel bridge. The bedrock outcrop is sculpted with planes, steps and gnomon-like projections, associated with fountains, terraces and fine masonry forming a riverside sanctuary. Archaeoastronomers (Gullberg, Malville) read it as a solstice light-and-shadow station ritually linked to Machu Picchu above.
