Oya Stone Quarry
UndergroundAsia
Vast hand-carved subterranean quarry in Tochigi Prefecture, now the Oya History Museum. Cathedral-scale chambers, 60m deep, cut from soft volcanic tuff (oya stone). Official records date carving 1919-1986, but alt-archaeology suggests the original excavation may be far older.
