Nuraghe Corbos

MegalithicEuropeItalyc. 1,000 BCENuragic

Well-preserved single-tower basalt nuraghe near Silanus, ~11 m across and nearly 12 m tall with a markedly truncated-conical profile — polygonal lower courses, sub-square upper ones. The 9 m tholos chamber has three cross-set niches and a helicoidal stair to an upper cell; regular square holes in the outer masonry are of debated function, possibly beam housings.
