Massive seated Buddha statue carved into Mount Meng outside Taiyuan, Shanxi. Originally 63 meters tall (officially the world's tallest seated stone Buddha when built in 551 CE under the Northern Qi). Mostly buried by landslides until 20th-century rediscovery.
