Kamilari Tholos Tomb

Tomb / BurialEuropeGreecec. 1,900 BCEMinoan (Mesara tholos tradition)

The best-preserved Mesara-type circular tholos tomb, its drystone wall of large roughly shaped stones still standing about 2 m high around a chamber 7.6 m across, with five annex chambers and an offering area that yielded some 500 inverted vessels. Three famous clay models — circle dancers, offering bearers, a banquet with horns of consecration — came from the tomb.
