Hypogeum of Sas Puntas
Tomb / BurialEuropeItalyc. 1,500 BCENuragic (pre-Nuragic rock-cut tradition)
Rock-cut hypogeum at Tissi whose sculpted facade translates a giants'-tomb front entirely into living limestone: a 9.5 m exedra, a 3.25 m arched stele with lunette, benches, baetyl holes and cup marks, leading to an oval burial chamber. Scholars debate whether such 'tombe a prospetto' imitate megalithic giants' tombs or continue the older domus de janas tradition; Roman-era wine presses were later cut into it.
