Possible megalithic pyramids and dolmen-like structures documented on multiple Azores islands (São Miguel, Terceira, Pico) by independent archaeologist Antonieta Costa and others. Mainstream archaeology classifies the surface features as natural volcanic formations or post-medieval shepherd cairns. Independent fieldwork (Archaic Lens, Costa) documents systematic geometric arrangements, possible megalithic tombs, and rock-cut features that predate Portuguese settlement in the 15th century. The Atlantis hypothesis places the Azores as a possible peak of a submerged Atlantic ridge. The dating remains contested.
