Cluster of rock-cut churches in the Amhara region near the Lalibela tradition. Multiple separate church structures carved into a single rock plateau. Less documented than Lalibela but architecturally related.
Look Closer — this site carries open questions: stones heavier than the period's tools could lift; stones fitted without mortar, almost no gap.
